The HUBZone Advantage

ACRE Coworking is located in a Federal Government HUBZone and as such small businesses who make us their home can gain preferential treatment in the awarding of Federal Government contracts once certified by the SBA

What is a HUBZone?

The program falls under the auspices of the U.S. Small Business Administration. The program established preferential treatment in the awarding of Federal Government contracts to those small businesses that locate within these HUBZones.

In this competitive and lucrative market, these preferences can be a deciding factor in which businesses thrive.

What are the benefits?

  • The federal government is required by statute to award 3% of all dollars for federal prime contracts to HUBZone-certified small business concerns. Government Contracts totaled $439 Billion in 2015!

  • 10% price evaluation preference in full and open contractcompetitions

  • Eligibility for HUBZone set aside and sole source contracts

How can my business get in on this?

In order to be eligible for the HUBZone business certification your business must meet the following criteria.

  • The business must be small by SBA standards according to the  firm's North American Industry Code System (NAICS code)

  • It must maintain a principal office in a HUBZone. The firm's pricipal office is the one where the greatest number of employees work (unless the firm is in services or consruction)

  • It must be owned and controlled at least 51% by U.S. citizens, or a Community Development Corporation, an agricultural cooperative, or an Indian tribe

  • At least 35%, rounded up, of all of its employees must reside in a HUBZone.
